Dean of Students and Spiritual Life

Summary: The primary responsibility of the Dean of Students and Spiritual Life is to create, cultivate and promote a culture of positive, spiritual mentorship on the campus of Tacoma Baptist Schools. This is accomplished through the three primary tasks of providing mentorship, leadership and discipleship opportunities for the students.

Director of Business and Finance

Summary: Manage and supervise Finance, Human Resources, Student Services (BASC/STC) and Transportation/Maintenance departments for Tacoma Baptist Schools.
Job Requirements
Primary
  • Supervise Finance Office Assistant. Perform duties alongside of the Finance Office Staff, ensuring deadlines are met and providing accountability of funds.
  • Supervise Student Service Manager.
  • Supervise Director of Transportation and Facilities, who oversees Transportation and Facilities manager.
  • Set up the benefits portion of the New Employee Orientation. Enlist Maddock & Associates, PPA, Westgate Capital and Colonial Life representatives to lead a section of the benefits orientation meeting in late August.
  • Assist Administrative Leadership in the hiring process by establishing appropriate salaries/wages for new hires and preparing employment contracts. Complete reference checks on new hires and process annual contracts.
  • Manage benefits enrollment and associated billing.
  • Manage retirement enrollment and distribution.
  • Manage property insurance renewal, meeting with Brown and Brown Insurance Company.
  • Annual Employee Handbook review and revision.
  • Manage medical insurance renewal, meeting with Maddock & Associates.
  • Work with vendors and manage contracts for services.
  • Follow up on delinquent accounts and work with families to bring accounts current.
Secondary
  • Oversee all finance related activities, including AP/AR, payroll, governmental reporting, compensation, credit card and banking reconciliation.
  • Process payroll and set up ACH monthly. Process monthly liabilities.
  • Serve as Online Banking and QuickBooks administrator.
  • Quarterly reporting 941, LNI, FMLA
  • Work with outside accounting firm to process the year-end closeout and 990 completion.
  • Responsible for maintaining personnel files and confidential personnel information.
Job requirements: Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks, GAAP, Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be flexible and attentive to detail. Ability to exercise judgement and discretion to ensure appropriate communication of sensitive and private information. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred along with 3-5 years of progressive experience in the areas of Accounting, Finance, Human Resources and Supervision.  Applicant must be a born-again Christian, faithfully attend a local evangelical church and accept our doctrinal statement.

Bus Drivers

Tacoma Baptist Schools is hiring part-time bus drivers. Flexible hours. Driver needed for regular afternoon route, field trips during the school day, and occasional afternoon/evening athletic transportation. Applicants are required to have their CDL (In some cases training will be covered by the school), be CPR and first aid certified, and meet the WDOT physical requirements.
